Although Alaska Governor Sarah Palin hasn't made an official announcement about being a grandmother - her daughter Bristol gave birth to a boy named Tripp - the former vice presidential candidate has said her daughter and fiancé Levi Johnston are working hard with their school studies.
The 18-year-old Bristol gave birth Saturday to a healthy 7 lb, 7 oz. baby boy in Palmer, Alaska. The baby's name is Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.
Palin said Bristol will complete her high school studies through a correspondence course so she can also focus on being a mother. Johnston has left high school and enrolled in an electrician apprenticeship program.
Bristol and her fiancé made headlines due to her pregnancy during Palin's run for the White House. Palin also made headlines - especially when "Saturday Night Live" star Tina Fey began to impersonate her.
