Simon Cowell is more famous than Britain's Queen Elizabeth or God. The "American Idol" presenter beat the 82-year-old monarch and the creator of the universe to take the top spot in a poll of 1,600 British school children under 10 taken for National Kids' Day.
Simon, 49, was placed number five last year, with the British monarch first. Jesus was sixth on the list, coming in behind Santa Claus and fictional child wizard Harry Potter.
It is believed children voted the music mogul into the top spot after watching him on a host of TV talent shows - including U.K. program "The X Factor" and "Britain's Got Talent" - because they think he makes normal people famous.
Media Expert Dr. Kirsty Fairclough of Britain's Salford University said: "I am sure he will be glad to be at the top of the list. It's indicative of Simon Cowell's place in the media, because that's what kids watch. I am not really surprised to hear he has topped it. Kids are using celebrities as something to look up to."
The children were quizzed on a number of topics for the survey, which also found they believe good looks are the "best thing in the world," in front of fame and wealth.
The youngsters thought being fat was the "worst thing in the world." Divorce came in second place, with most children saying they would ban it if they ruled the world.
