Former "The Nanny" star Fran Drescher wants to replace soon-to-be Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Senate. The 51-year-old actress insists she's qualified for the position.

New York Gov. David Patterson is reportedly seriously considering former first daughter Caroline Kennedy, also 51, for Clinton's position when she vacates it on January 20 to become President-Elect Barack Obama's Secretary of State.

However, Drescher says she wants the job and she has the required qualities to be a senator as she's an "authentic and honest person."

NY Mag quotes the cancer survivor actress as saying, "I've been very successful in getting a bill passed in Washington. I was thinking I'd take the next four years to lay some groundwork, but I'm throwing my hat in the ring."
