It’s hard to imagine a time before super-sized sunglasses, skinny jeans and long scarves, but let’s face it: our favorite fashionista was not always so stylish (and we have the pics to prove it).
When we first met Nicole Richie, she was Paris Hilton’s not-as-famous and not-as-glamorous sidekick on The Simple Life, who favored colored hair extensions and Ugg boots. With a little help from the fashion gods (aka celeb stylist Rachel Zoe), Richie transformed in to the designer’s dream that we know her as today. With her sleek blonde hair, subtle make-up and gowns by Missoni, Pucci and Costume National, Nicole has even managed to upstage P. Hilton.
Even now, without the guiding hand of Zoe, Richie has kept herself fashionably relevant with her BF, Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, as her new favorite accessory. We take a look at Nic’s fashion hits (white strapless cocktail dresses) and some of her, er, less than stellar fashion choices (too tight satin) over the years.
