Britain's Princess Anne has visited a racing school exactly 25 years after her brother, Prince Charles, opened it.
The 58-year-old royal paid a visit to Suffolk's British Racing School on Tuesday where she met representatives from Forest Heath Council, East Cambridgeshire Council and school staff.
During her trip, she presented Darren O'Dwyer, 25, with the 2009 Best Advanced Apprentice Award. Students put on a special display of horse-riding for the princess - who is well known for her equestrian talents, winning two silver and one gold medal at the European Eventing Championships - with 12 pupils lining up on their horses to talk with her.
James Harding, 16, said: "It was the first time I met royalty. I said I was riding a three-year-old filly called Goldigger."
Anne was also treated to a demonstration of a riding simulator which provides users with a visual image of their performance.
British Racing School chief executive Rory MacDonald was thrilled to have the princess visit the establishment.
He said: "As we said to her, it was 25 years to the day since her brother opened the school. She hasn't been here for six years and for 40 youngsters she has not just made their day, but their year."
The princess also met students who attend the BRS one day a week for NVQ training.
