Jesse Metcalfe is in a wheelchair and can "barely walk" after a near-fatal accident.
The former "Desperate Housewives" star is recovering after falling 40ft from a nightclub balcony after hosting the World Music Awards in Monaco, France, on Sunday.
The accident knocked the 29-year-old unconscious and fractured his leg.
A spokesman said: "Jesse knows he's had a very lucky escape. The accident could have been fatal."
"It was a very scary experience for him and those of us who saw him. It was a nasty fall."
"I have just come from the hospital and he is bearing up OK. He can barely walk as he hasn't got much movement in his legs."
The star is currently being treated at a North London hospital. He was given an MRI scan which confirmed there was no damage to his brain.
Jesse was apparently sitting on the ledge of a balcony at top nightspot Jimmy'z when he accidentally fell backwards over the edge. He was found face down on the ground.
