Britain's Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell is returning to the U.K.

Paul - who worked for the princess for 10 years until her death in 1997 and has since carved out a career for himself based on his connection to the late royal - will leave his Florida home to join his wife Maria and help look after the family florist business in Cheshire, England.

A source told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "Christmas is a busy time for the business and apparently Paul feels it's only right he should be back helping Maria behind the counter."

"It will be quite strange to have him back as he hasn't worked in the shop for a long time, even though his name is still above the door."

Paul has been living in Florida since he admitted he lied at the inquest into Diana's death.

Although his decision to flee to America without Maria - who he married in 1983 - has sparked rumors their relationship in on the rocks, he insists they are still "very much together."

Paul was branded a liar by the coroner at the inquest into Diana's death after it was revealed he told a friend he had not told the whole truth three days after he gave evidence.

He was asked to return to the U.K. from his Florida home to explain himself, but refused.
