Britney Spears' family reunion in her hometown in Louisiana quickly took a dramatic turn on Sunday after youngest son Jayden James suffered a suspected seizure and was rushed to the hospital.
Two-year-old Jayden was taken to the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center's emergency room after lapsing into a "vague and unresponsive" state at their family home in Kentwood, Louisiana.
A source told the Daily Mail, "One minute Britney and her sons were relaxing and enjoying their first visit to Kentwood in months, and the next minute Jayden had fallen ill."
"He was vague and unresponsive so Britney dialed and ambulance. But she was told it would take half an hour to arrive, and she was best trying to get Jayden to the hospital herself."
The whole Spears family then rushed 25 miles to the Mississippi hospital to get Jayden immediate professional care. A Lincoln Navigator carried the toddler, Britney, mom Lynne, and dad Jamie to the medical center, while a Range Rover, driven by sister Jamie Lynn and carried brother Brian, followed the first vehicle.
Jayden had to be kept in the hospital overnight to be observed. It's still not clear what ailed the toddler.
The 26-year-old mother of two was clearly distraught by the incident and refused to leave her son's side. She asked for a bed to be made up in the same room as her son so she could take care of him.
Britney also has another son, 3-year-old Sean Preston.
