Salma Hayek says women don't have to be perfect, but she is walking a fine line to be considered as such.
The actress, who recently announced that she is pregnant and marrying the man behind luxury brands like Gucci - every woman's dream - is unimpressed with the pressure for women to feel they need to be perfect in every way.
In line with her TV show "Ugly Betty," which she executive produces and occasionally acts in, Salma wants women to know that they don't have to feel less than adequate.
She told the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine, "Society thinks if you don't have children, you've failed as a woman, even if you are CEO of a company. You've got to be beautiful, smart, skinny, tall, rich, successful at your job, married to the right guy - and have genius children. And by the way, you also have to be a nun!"

The 40-year-old star is partnering with studio MGM to create Ventanazul, a production company that will cater to Latin actors and audiences.
She told Marie Claire, "I started out in Hollywood at the same time as Jennifer Lopez. Before us, Latinas only had roles that were part of the backdrop, as the maid or the prostitute. We changed that. Of course, you're always looking for those Meryl Streep parts, but I am grateful for the things I did."
But work may be on hold for a while as Salma prepares to welcome her first child. Starting motherhood later isn't bothering her, saying, "Motherhood is not for everyone. It is for me, but there's no reason women should feel rushed to have a child."
Salma and her fiance, Francois-Henri Pinault, have not revealed when they will be getting married.
