Paris Hilton is living proof that stars can be blind...and deaf...and dumb.
The socialite has frequently had questionable taste in boyfriends but her latest pick of the litter - 21-year old surfer Tyler Atkins - is receiving more backlash than "Girls Gone Wild" creator Joe Francis and Backstreet boy Nick Carter combined.
The Australian surfer and T-shirt designer has been grilled by the press because of his decision to sleep his way to the top - or middle - and to do it with Paris. His love of swearing and drugs doesn't seem to have helped the P.R.
Tyler was first pictured with Paris on the beach in Malibu, playing with her new puppy. Now he has revealed what they were conversing about while paparazzi took pictures that were soon flashed across front pages from Sydney to San Diego.
Tyler, who bares a similar resemblance to the heiress's new dog London, confirmed that he is getting to know Paris - which shouldn't take long after the topics of partying and soul searching are covered.
He said, "Paris and I are just getting to know each other. She is a really smart, amazing girl and we share similar interests. We have been hanging out at the beach, talking about fashion."
Tyler insists that he only gave the exclusive and controversial YouTube interview because of other young guys who are envious of his lifestyle...as a celeb hanger-on.
He said, "I was asked to film an interview because I was out there living a life that many young guys my age would be envious of. I've worked hard to get where I am today and am proud of the successes I have had in the past few years."
A friend of Tyler's revealed that the romance started in late 2006. The anonymous mate said, "He slept with her last year after they met at a party."
Tyler, who has admitted to wanting to earn enough money to buy a Range Rover, has dedicated part of his private MySpace page to ask the question, "Who the f*** is Paris?"
Now that she is the reason he is a D-grade celebrity, Tyler answers his question by saying, "She's a cool girl and we're having a really great time enjoying each other's company."
Paris swore she would concentrate on living a better life after prison. So far that has involved wearing bikinis with high heels and attending a whole new range of parties.
