John Travolta recently asked a hotel to turn off all music during his stay in New York. He told the hotel staff to turn off the music in any room he entered.
Travolta passed his instruction at the plush Tribeca Grand, to the great surprise of other hotel customers. A guest at the hotel told the New York Post, "They had to turn the music off whenever he appeared. Everyone else had been enjoying it. If he'd come out and there'd be music on, he'd go through the kitchen."
Travolta, a dedicated Scientologist, wanted calm all through his hotel stay. John Carmichael, spokesman for the church, said the "Pulp Fiction" star's request for calm was not connected to his beliefs. "There are no church prohibitions against any kind of music at all." Carmichael said.
Travolta will play JR Ewing in "Dallas." Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson and Shirley Maclaine will also star in the movie that will depict wealthy Texas oil millionaires in their daily business dealings.
