Anything is "game" when you're being interviewed by Howard Stern. It's just a given. However, Pete Townshend wasn't recently in the mood to answer any questions regarding past child pornography charges and suddenly stormed out of the shock jock's radio station.

The music legend was preparing for an interview with Howard Stern on Sirius Radio, on Wednesday, when he overheard the DJ mentioning topics he wanted to talk about in the show.

The shock jock was apparently planning to question Townsend about his 2003 arrest in London on suspicion of possessing child pornography. Townshend was cleared of the charges.

Townshend, along with his girlfriend Rachel Fuller and Who band member Roger Daltrey, was listening to Stern's New York based broadcast as he waited in a London studio for his interview to begin.

Co-host Robin Quivers asked Stern if they could talk about the "child pornography stuff" and claims he was abused as a child.

Stern replied, "Oh yeah, we could ask him about that."

Townshend, 61, stormed out, leaving Daltrey to do the interview.

Daltrey fumed, "Can you imagine you're accused of this stuff and then you're found not guilty? If you had to defend yourself through this stuff? The wounds are so deep on the man, and it's just tragic because he's got so much to offer."

Quivers maintained Townshend would have walked out anyway "even if we didn't bring that stuff up."

He added, "He is such a testy guy."

Stern, who called Fuller "Yoko" after it emerged she co-wrote a song on the new Who album, eventually apologized.

He said, "Tell Pete I am very sorry. We would have had a great interview with him. I really wish he'd reconsider this. We adore him."
