Tomi Rae Hynie, who claims to be the fourth wife of the late James Brown, has finally been allowed back into their Beech Island estate to retrieve her things. Judge Doyet Early also gave Hynie permission to videotape and snap pictures of the home's interior so that ownership of items under dispute can be determined.
According to CNN, Hynie wore her wedding ring to court on Friday, but Brown's trustees still dispute the marriage. Hynie's attorneys have requested that an administrator be appointed to work with the trustees of the Brown estate.
Though Hynie and Brown's six children had been estranged during her lover's death, they have since become unified in the belief that the legendary singer's estate is being mismanaged.
The attorneys for Brown's children are requesting that the trustees of Brown's will, Buddy Dallas, Alford Bradley, and David Cannon, be removed as trustees. In turn, Strom Thurmond, Jr., attorney for the trustees, has requested a restraining order against Brown's children, claiming that they have obstructed the administration of the estate.
By next week, Judge Early has agreed to make a decision to either remove the trustees or appoint a special administrator.
