In a time of need, Michael Richards may find that the only person he can turn to is Tom Green.
Tom recently said that people should just back off and cut Michael some slack after his racist tirade at the Laugh Factory last weekend. The funny guy says the former "Seinfeld" star is not a racist; he just thought of the most evil, despicable things he could say to someone and ran with it.
Tom insists Richards is a good guy at heart and holds no ill-will towards anyone. And since we weren't in the comedy room when the incident happened, he says we should simply mind our own business and not get involved. Right, because that's going to solve the problem.
On his website blog, he wrote, "Unlike Mel Gibson, who probably does hold racist attitudes, I don't think Michael Richards doesn't like black people. I think he was just trying to say the craziest and most vile thing in that room he could possibly muster. And I think he dug deep, into the darkest corners of his mind, to say those evil things to those men."
He added, "But he did it in a small room, in an exchange, during a performance, and it wasn't meant for us. It was just meant for that room. So why don't we just let them settle it? Let's leave Michael Richards alone."
