Many Hollywood child stars have bizarre parents, but Thora Birch's dad may win the prize for the creepiest.
Birch, who has been out of the spotlight since her days in "American Beauty," is currently filming "The Winter Of Frozen Dreams."
With the production close to finishing, Birch and her co-star Dean Winters were scheduled to shoot their sex scene.
While such scenes usually call for a closed set, the actress's father, Jack, insisted on watching and giving the director some advice to ensure his little girl looked her best.
One insider told Page Six, "It was so wrong. The director is saying, 'Harder! Faster!' and the father is giving Winter's the thumbs up."
Production crew often has to deal with pushy actresses, but in this unusual case, it is Birch's father who is trying to call the shots.
The insider continued that director, Eric Mandelbaum, was not impressed when, "all of a sudden, the front door is being kicked in. Her father was threatening to kill the assistant directors. Then he threatens to pull her from the movie with three days of shooting left."
After the sex scene was complete, hopefully to the appropriate standard for Mr Birch, the spy said, "It was the most bizarre, perverse scene. One girl on the crew broke down crying."
