Next year's Glastonbury music festival is set to be a showstopper. The Who are in talks to headline Glastonbury's 2007 music festival. Surviving original members Roger Daltrey, 62, and Pete Townshend, 61, have been approached by festival organizer Michael Eavis to be the main act of the show.
"Michael has approached Roger and said he wants The Who to play in 2007. Nothing has been agreed or signed at this stage, but Michael has asked the question and he hasn't been turned down," said a source to Britain's Daily Star newspaper.
"Michael always likes to have some sort of rock royalty at the festival and they don't come with better credentials than The Who," added the source.
"All I can tell you at this stage is whatever rumors you've heard, they're probably all true," said 70-year old Eavis.
"We're going to be presenting the best line-up anywhere in the world. Glastonbury 2007 will be, literally, the greatest show on Earth. What I can announce now is I'm adding an extra 100 acres next year so it will be the biggest festival ever," added Eavis.
The festival will run from June 23 - 26 and acts already confirmed for the event include Bruce Springsteen, The Killers, Scissor Sisters and Kylie Minogue.
Kylie, 38, pulled out of Glastonbury 2005 after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but has promised to perform next year, now that her cancer is in remission.
