It has been just over six months since Steve Irwin tragically passed away and his widow Terri says that she is still struggling with the adjustment.
The American-born, Australian-based mother of two escorted her daughter, Bindi, to the "Nickelodeon 20th Annual Kids Choice Awards". She told PEOPLE, "It's extremely difficult. Part of me is still waiting for the day that he walks through the door."
While Terri admits to missing her "Crocodile Hunter" husband, she says his presence is still felt in their home.
Terri continued, "We have so much footage of Steve and we watch it so it's like we almost get to see him every day. The kids and I have good days and bad, but you just deal with it as it comes."
Steve and Terry, who traveled the world together for conservation, have two children, Bindi, eight, and Bob, three.
At the Nickelodeon awards, Bindi presented pop star Justin Timberlake with the award for favorite male singer.
When accepting his award, Timberlake said, "It's an honor to be standing next to Bindi Irwin. This young lady will change the world."
Bindi has vowed to continue her father's legacy.
