One eager British journalist tried to convince the world that he recently shared a beer with Brad Pitt in a chic Hollywood hotel.
J. Randy Taraborrelli, a writer for the British Mail newspaper, claimed that he spotted the superstar at the Roosevelt Hotel and Brad, drinking a beer alone, had a little confession for him.
According to the writer, Brad said, "You know what it's like to be on the cover of every magazine, having your personal life dissected with all the lies, all the rubbish? It's hell. Certainly, pick on me - but why pick on Angelina? That's so low. She's such an amazing woman - like Supergirl, in every way."
Creating an image of a sad and troubled man at a bar, J. Randy continued that Brad said, "I'm sorry if I seem to be taking my frustration out on you."
But maybe the tabloid journalist had a few too many drinks of his own and simply imagined the conversation, because according to Brad's people it never happened.
The actor's rep said that the father-of-four would never use a British term like "rubbish," drink alone in a bar or refer to Angelina as "supergirl."
Either way, J. Randy Taraborrelli has proven to be a decent story teller.
