One week they are getting married, the next week they are no more. It seems that no one has any idea on the status of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams' relationship.
The Canadian stars, who met when they co-starred on the tear-jerker "The Notebook," have been fighting rumors of a secret engagement and a wedding for weeks now.
Rachel's publicist denied the speculation, saying that such rumors were "completely false." The dismissals may have led people to assume that the couple has ended their affair for good.
The New York Daily News newspaper claims that Oscar nominee Ryan confirmed the split to a friend while at the premiere of his film "Fracture."
The newspaper claims that after being asked by a pal about Rachel's absence, Ryan replied, "Don't you know? We broke up."
Us Weekly magazine, meanwhile, extends on the rumor by saying that the cute couple called it quits so that Ryan can cash in on his "It Boy" status.
One source told the tabloid that it is not a permanent breakup, saying, "It's a break, not a breakup."
With Ryan's career on the rise, the insider adds, "It's a pivotal moment for him."
But "Wedding Crashers" star Rachel isn't coping well. Another source says that the stunning blonde "is taking it really hard because Ryan is everything to her."
Another source ready to weigh in on the mystery surrounding the private relationship adds, "Ryan was in love with her, but it didn't work out because of their conflicting work schedules. They're both miserable. Hopefully they'll get back together soon."
Again, Rachel's rep calls the story "completely false" proving once again that these two stars may be having the most private relationship in Hollywood.
