Critics might have rated Victoria Beckham's self-featuring reality show, "Coming to America," as a flop, but the 33-year-old fashion model has her own say. Posh Spice says that Americans might not have gotten her 'ironic' sense of humor.
"I really don't sunbathe in high heels with a full face of make-up. It shows I don't take myself too seriously," Beckham told a magazine, according to ITV.
The one-hour program, "Victoria Beckham: Coming to America," documented the life of the fashion icon as she moved from London to Los Angeles.
Although the documentary, which aired in the U.S. on Monday, was apparently intended at showing viewers the woman behind the fashion icon and her sense of humor, things went askewed after it was hit with derisive reviews.
"Beckham is somewhat famous for being sort of famous, and is photographed a lot in Britain, a nation so open to media hypnosis that a Web site devoted to the ripening of a 44-pound wheel of cheddar has received more than a million Internet hits," wrote the New York Times' Alessandra Stanley.
Victoria gained fame as a member of the hit 90's all-girl band The Spice Girls. Her image was further enhanced following her marriage to soccer superstar David Beckham.
