| Dame Shirley Bassey has hailed the helicopter pilot whose flying skills saved her life as a hero. The helicopter - which was flying the 70-year-old singer back to London after her amazing performance at the Glastonbury Festival - developed a mechanical fault and came within inches of hitting pylons before making an emergency landing at Collingwood College in Camberley, Surrey, on Sunday night. Despite her terrifying ordeal, Bassey has nothing but praise for pilot John Paxton, 47, saying: "He acted brilliantly. He made absolutely the right decision." | |
