It seems that 'get out of jail free cards' only exist in monopoly.
Despite her wealthy and powerful family behind her, Paris Hilton still has to serve her jail sentence like any other law-breaking citizen.
New reports have emerged that claim Paris' family has a financial connection to L.A.'s Sheriff Lee Baca.
The sheriff made the controversial decision to allow the starlet to finish the remainder of her sentence in her Hollywood mansion. However, she was quickly sent straight back to prison by Judge Michael Sauer.
It has been revealed that Paris's grandfather, William Barron Hilton, donated a significant amount of money to Sheriff Baca's 2006 re-election campaign. As far as some are concerned, the police officer was showing his appreciation by allowing Paris to return to her glamorous life and home.
A friend of the Hilton clan said, "A member of her family has been a contributor to Baca's campaign and this may have been payback time. Her entourage initially were confident she would be out of jail in a few days."
Paris will now serve out the remainder of her sentence in solitary confinement in Los Angeles County Jail.
