After more than 11 years of marriage, Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn have both filed for divorce from each other.
Sean Penn first filed for divorce on December 7 in Marin County, California but was dismissed. Robin Wright Penn had filed her own three days after.
Penn's papers listed November as their separation date. Her petition states that December 1 is their date of separation. Both cite irreconcilable differences" as the reason and ask for joint legal and physical custody of their two children, Hopper Jack and Dylan Frances.
Hearing on their divorce is on April 21. They were married April 1996.
This is a second divorced marriage for both. Penn was married to Madonna in 1985 and divorced in 1989. Wright was married to actor Dane Witherspoon from 1986 to 1988.
