Scarlett Johansson has reportedly splashed out $800,000 on a "gigantic" new home. The 22-year-old actress bought the seven-bedroom Los Angeles property located in the Hollywood Hills from film director Harold Becker.

A source said: "It's a gigantic property with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The place spans over 4,352sq ft."

The 'Lost in Translation' star will have a host of celebrity neighbors. They include Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie, Sharon Stone, Meg Ryan and Denzel Washington.

However, the $800,000 price tag is dwarfed by the sums other stars have laid out for their Los Angeles homes.

Victoria and David Beckham - who moved to the US with their three sons earlier this month after David signed a multi-million dollar deal with the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team - paid a staggering $22 million for their new Beverly Hills home.

Their six-bedroom villa is located just down the road from good friends Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who live in a $34 million property that sits on 1.3 acres.

Actress Salma Hayek reportedly bought actor Kelsey Grammer's Bel-Air property for $20 million in June this year.

Other sources put the price tag for this property at $8,0,0, which sounds more appropriate for a seven- bedroom residence. Are you guys sure of your information? When I was in journalism school, an "error of fact" was an automatic F.
