"Sex and the City: The Movie" star Sarah Jessica Parker explains what the film is all about and how she kept it from being a big commercial.

In an interview with Tom Brook on his "Talking Movies" program, the 43-year-old actress said that the new SATC film is basically about forgiveness.

She said, "I think it's about forgiveness. I think it's about what it means to be a grown up and recognize your own complicity and disappointment. And you have to reconcile what part you played in it."

"It's all really about forgiveness and pursuing love in a way that is real meaningful and really suits you and the joys and the triumphs and the disappointments and all the whimsy in between."

Brook pointed out that there are so many product placements in the show. He then asks how they made it stay true to its art and not become a big movie commercial.

Parker said that it's all part of how to make a movie today adding she learned as a producer of the show that "this is how a game is played."

She added that "it takes strategizing" to avoid making it just a big screen advertisement and that they "hope we got it right."
