Sarah Jessica Parker has admitted her latest movie did not "work out."

The 'Sex and the City' actress has resigned herself to the fact that 'Spinning Into Butter' - in which she co-stars with Beau Bridges and Miranda Richardson - won't be released after failing to find a distributor.

She told the New York Post newspaper: "One enters these endeavors with the best of intentions but sometimes they don't work out."

"The film is in that purgatory that many movies find themselves."

'Spinning Into Butter' - which was due to be released last year - features Sarah as the college dean of a New England college, who has to deal with the fall-out of a race hate crime on campus.

In May, the 42-year-old star can be seen reprising her role as sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw in 'Sex and the City: The Movie', the much-anticipated film version of the hit TV sitcom.
