In the latest round of movies to feature a gay male couple in the lead, Adam Sandler and Kevin James are in negotiations to star in "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry." The movie is about two firefighters who pretend to be a gay couple and will be directed by David Dobkin, who directed "Wedding Crashers."
The premise of the movie is that the firefighters posed as a married gay couple in order to get domestic benefits. The script has been floating around Universal Studios since the 1990s and various actors, including Will Smith, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson and Nicholas Cage have all been considered for the leading roles.
James starred in the CBS comedy "The King of Queens" and was last seen onscreen in the Will Smith comedy "Hitch." Sandler is set to begin working on "Reign O'er Me", a drama from Mike Binder and will star in the comedy "Click", which will hit theaters in late June.
