Hollywood star Rupert Everett admits he has not cooked a meal since 1981. Everett told the Cheltenham Literature festival, that he gave up cooking and hosting parties, after a disastrous party 25 years ago.

The 47-year-old actor said, "A storm blew up and the terrace was blown in through the windows. Then there was a fire caused by candles. The place was full of smoke. It all went wrong."

For the most part, Rupert Everett says being gay after the age of 40 generally means you're history.
