Rumors are swirling that actress Penelope Cruz and her Oscar-winning boyfriend Javier Bardem are engaged. Bardem is said to have proposed during a recent romantic vacation in France and the two will marry later this year.

According to reports, the couple is already busy planning a wedding. Friends also claim that Bardem, who won an Academy Award for his role in "No Country For Old Men," was encouraged by his mother to propose to Cruz.

The couple met in their native Spain last year and began dating after shooting the Woody Allen movie "Vicky Cristina."

Cruz has had several much-publicized romances with other actors, including Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey.

The happy couple met making Jamon Jamon when the lovely Ms. Cruz was 16 years old. In the trailor of the film, it seems they were certainly introduced. The magnificent Senor(imagine one of those thingies above the n; I can't get my word processor to make one)Bardem has known her approximately half her life. I wish the two a happy life, together or apart. Your rumor that they will marry each other seems less than authorative given that you can't get the time they met correctly.

I don't care how long he knows her,I don't buy it!
Let's not forget he met his ex-novia Cristina Pales on the set of Jamon Jamon and fell in love with HER not Ms.Cruz and they lasted 12 years.And if these two do get married,are they going to continue living apart and going out of their way not to be photographed together? They look like a couple of "F" buddies to me,
not two people seriously in love.Sorry!
