Grammy Award winning singer Ricky Martin wants to have lots of kids and he would adopt them possibly "from each continent." The 35-year-old unveiled his family plans Wednesday during a press conference in Puerto Rico, where he is scheduled to perform this weekend.
"It's something we want to begin to create this year, a family of many colors," AP quoted Martin as saying.
Martin said he won't use his celebrity status for a quicker adoption, nor does he expects a special treatment.
"I want to do it right. I don't want any problems or misunderstandings ... Some think as celebrities we can manipulate the system to have a quicker adoption," he said.
Martin was named a Goodwill Ambassador to UNICEF in 2004. He established the Ricky Martin Foundation in Puerto Rico to advocate for the welfare of children around the world.
