Reese Witherspoon says she worries but she also doesn't worry about her kids growing up. The "Walk The Line" Oscar winner talks to Marie Claire magazine about how her kids make her feel grounded.
The demurely clad Witherspoon in white robe in the magazine's cover feels very fortunate to have a job with flexibility as she can she a lot of time with her kids.
"Like every working parent, I sometimes feel that there are not enough hours in the day. But overall, I'm very fortunate that my job has a lot of flexibility. I spend a lot of time with the kids, just around the house. They're still pretty young, so I feel like what I can mostly do is listen to them and be there for them," Witherspoon says of her kids, 8-year-old Ava and 4-year-old Deacon.
The 31-year-old New Orleans native says she had learned her parenting skills from her own mother and father.
"I had parents who believed I could do anything - and I know how that made me feel," the Legally Blonde actress says of her parents, who are both doctors. "I think both my parents, having careers in the medical profession, feel they are helping people on a daily basis, and that was inculcated in me as a value. I had to struggle with giving up the idea of becoming a doctor myself."
Witherspoon - who is currently rumored to be engaged to boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal - says her family's guilty pleasures are "game shows like the new "Crosswords" and "Deal or No Deal" and "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" are very popular in my house."
The actress shares her kids with ex-husband Ryan Philippe. They had been married for seven years before deciding to separate.
