The Pussycat Dolls have been faced with a fine after angering Malaysian officials with a raunchy show. The seductive girl group performed in the Far East last month and locals were outraged by their revealing outfits and suggestive lyrics.

A local council spokesman told Malay Mail newspaper, "I believe the way the Pussycat Dolls behaved on stage amounted to gross indecency. They reportedly put on a show which not only featured scantily-dressed performers but also included sensuous elements."

Now the girls of the band have reportedly been handed a fine, and if they refuse to pay up, the local council has threatened to take the group to court, reports MTV.

This is not the first time Western acts have angered the predominantly Muslim country. In 2003 rock group Linkin Park were ordered to swap their shorts for trousers before they took to the stage.
