Princess Michael of Kent got on her bike for charity on Tuesday. The 62-year-old royal - who is married to Britain's Queen Elizabeth's cousin Prince Michael - helped launch Pedal with the Parcs, a campaign to raise funds for charity through sponsored cycle rides.
The princess revealed that she often pedals around her London home, Kensington Palace, when the "weather is mild."
She told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "You don't realize that Kensington Palace is actually built on a hill until you try to cycle around it and it's exhausting."
The royal - who joined actresses Denise Welsh and Amanda Holden for the launch - also confessed she is a bit of a speed demon.
She added: "I do love it, when I am on my way out from the palace, as then one really can build up speed. And once I hit the cycle lanes out in the road, then there really is no stopping me. Hurrah!"
The Pedal with the Parcs campaign - organized by holiday camps Center Parcs - runs in association with the children's medical research charity SPARKS and The National Byway Trust.
