Britain's Princess Michael of Kent has extended a royal invitation to Heather Mills to accompany her to a charity evening.
The princess and the former model will join a host of stars, including comic Sacha Baron Cohen, at London's Knightsbridge Barracks for a reception in aid of the Hyde Park Appeal.
The charity supports the Liberty Drives service, providing electric buggies to enable the disabled people to get around the 750 acres of Hyde Park.
The princess - who founded the scheme - reportedly invited Heather to the evening because she is impressed with how she has continued to live such an active life since losing her leg below the knee in a police motorcycle accident several years ago.
A spokesman for the Hyde Park Appeal, Basia Briggs, told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "Heather is an icon for the disabled because of the way she has coped with her disability and quite literally got on her bike."
Heather - the estranged wife of Paul McCartney - is now an active charity worker and a keen cyclist.
Organizers of the Liberty Drives service are now planning to extend the service so that it can provide buggies for the children being treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
