| Britain's Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are to return to the estate where they enjoyed part of their honeymoon. The royal couple will plant a mulberry tree in the grounds of Hampshire's Broadlands Estate where they stayed back in November 1947, during a two-day tour of the county. The estate, located in the small market town of Romsey, was owned by Philip's late uncle Earl Mountbatten, who was killed in a terrorist attack in 1979. | | | |
| Britain's Prince Charles has hired a new personal harpist. Claire Jones, 22, has been appointed as the Official Harpist to the Prince of Wales, a post resurrected by Charles seven years ago. Claire is the third person to fill the position since Charles brought it back after it became defunct in 1911. | |
| Britain's Queen Elizabeth was not amused when U.S. President George Bush blundered his way through his welcoming speech on Monday. Addressing crowds in Washington D.C., the president noted how the queen had been present during the U.S.'s bicentennial celebrations in 1776, before quickly correcting himself to say 1976. As the error was met with laughter, Bush broke with royal protocol by turning to the monarch and giving her a wink. | |
| Britain's Prince William gave his brother Prince Harry the shirt off his back for a royal painting. The 24-year-old old prince came to the rescue when Harry arrived for a sitting with painter Sergei Pavlenko at Buckingham Palace, only to discover his Army uniform had gone missing. Harry's uniform was an integral piece of wardrobe as the work was to commemorate his passing out from Sandhurst Military Academy. | |
| A secret royal marriage deal was the real reason behind Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton's split, it has been reported. The couple allegedly reassessed their relationship when they discovered their future was being decided for them, with their engagement talked about as a "done deal." According to reports, Queen Elizabeth was eager for the pair to wed, as it would help improve the public face of the royal family. | |
