Britain's Prince Harry's army colleagues are planning to wear T-shirts emblazoned with the words 'I'm Harry' when they are deployed to Iraq. Soldiers have had the shirts, which also feature a target symbol, printed in a show of solidarity to their royal colleague, whose impending deployment to the war-torn region has sparked grave concern for his safety.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Soldiers are well known for having operational tour T-shirts and also for pulling together to support each other.
"Prince Harry is highly respected by his comrades as a young officer and for what he is doing in the Armed Forces.
"I wouldn't be surprised if all his troops have bought them to demonstrate their support for him as their leader and also to help donate some money to the Army Benevolent Fund."
The idea was inspired by a scene in the movie "Spartacus" - during which the title character is protected by his fellow soldiers who all assume his identity to confuse the enemy intent in hunting him down.
The T-shirts are being sold on internet site eBay for $40 each.
Last week, a last-minute meeting was called by Army chiefs to review Harry's deployment, after fears were raised the prince could become a trophy target for terrorists and insurgents.
General Sir Richard Dannatt confirmed on Monday that the prince, who has always maintained he is keen not to be treated differently from his Blues and Royals colleagues, would be posted to Iraq.
