Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Duchess Of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles, visited a Cornish market held in London yesterday on June 28.

The royal couple sampled traditional food and drink from the West Coast region and shook hands with people dressed as 7ft Cornish pasties.

Mauro Luguini, who was wearing one of the giant pastry costumes, was quoted in BBC website as saying: "Camilla asked me if it was hot inside and how long I had been wearing the costume. I said, 'since this morning'. But I got two breaks."

Camilla and the prince made the most of the free tasters and enjoyed a pint of Doom Bar from Sharp's Brewery.

They were also seen nibbling on Cornish Yard, a cheese from the Lynher Dairies, and munching on local strawberries.

The event was organized by the Lord Mayor of the City of London, David Brewer, in celebration of his Cornish roots.

Trainees from celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall Restaurant were also on hand to discuss how the TV chef's latest venture was going.
