David Beckham has bought wife Victoria a $1500 book for Christmas.
The Los Angeles Galaxy soccer star has secretly splashed out on a limited edition tome, signed by one of Victoria's favorite fashion designers Valentino.
A source said, "It will make for some good toilet reading for Victoria. Most people might get a gardening book in their stocking - but Posh gets this."
Just 2,000 copies of the book, "Valentino Garavani: First Name in Fashion", were published.
Each tome comes in a red silk Valentino clamshell box and features pictures from the legendary designer's career, along with comments from some of the top fashion writers in the world.
The Beckhams regularly splash out on expensive gifts for each other.
Earlier this month, David treated Victoria and her four Spice Girls bandmates to gold bracelets to celebrate their reunion world tour.
In April, the former England captain took Victoria to Paris, spending $50,000 on a private jet and arranging private fittings with her favorite dress and shoe designers for her 33rd birthday.
Victoria organized an equally extravagant birthday surprise for her husband's birthday in May.
She spent $32,000 on a private jet to fly him from Madrid to London for a $40,000 shopping spree and dinner at Mayfair's exclusive Cipriani restaurant.
