"Sin City" beauty Jessica Alba has ended her feud with Playboy. The actress wanted the magazine to pull its March issue after they used a picture of her - wearing a bikini and standing next to the headline "25 Sexiest Celebrities" - on the front cover without her consent.

Alba was also worried that readers might be led to believe she appeared nude or partially nude inside.

However, the 24-year-old has dropped her demand after the empire's founder, Hugh Hefner, sent her a letter of apology.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, she said: "I appreciate Mr. Hefner's acknowledgment of the distress caused by Playboy's actions, and I'm happy to put this unfortunate event behind me...This was never about money, it was about setting the record straight about something that was done without my knowledge or consent."

As a goodwill gesture, Playboy also made donations to two charities thatAlba supports - Keep A Child Alive and Until There's A Cure.

Playboy spokeswoman Lauren Malone said: "Hef felt bad that Jessica was upset and apologized for unintentionally hurting her feelings...We're happy the matter has been amicably resolved."
