Britney Spears and Russell Brand have filmed an advert together for this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

The pair - who have both battled demons in the past, with Britney suffering a public breakdown and Russell overcoming a heroin addiction - are joined in the advert by a huge gray elephant which neither of them seem to notice.

Miley Cyrus wants to babysit for Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson. The 'Hannah Montana' star "worships" Ashlee - who is expecting her first child with husband Pete later this year - and was the first to offer to look after the as-yet-unborn baby.

Speaking to Pete at a taping of his TV show 'F'N MTV', Miley said: "I just met your beautiful wife backstage. I worship her - I'll babysit!"

Meanwhile, Pete has been talking to Ashlee's father Joe and his own dad Pete to make sure he is fully prepared for the arrival of his baby. He recently said: "I'm reading all the books. The best one I've read so far is 'The Expectant Father'. "I'm talking to my dad a lot. I'm talking to Ashlee's dad a lot. We hang out with other people who have kids. You see the world in a different way. It's exciting."
