Pete Doherty is set to save young heroin addicts. The Babyshambles singer is reportedly starring in a new reality TV show that aims to work with the young offenders to battle their own drug demons.
The 28-year-old musician, who had been in rehab for his drug addictions, will allegedly stay with families on the Langley Estate in Middleton, Manchester to work with a drug offenders' group.
Doherty is no stranger to the illegal substance. He had been previously criticized for glamorizing an addict's life. He had since been living clean and wants to inspire others to do the same, reports say.
A source says, "Pete really hopes to be able to use his own experiences to help these youths. Hopefully they will be inspired by his visits."
The singer, who had had a high-profile relationship with supermodel Kate Moss, also tried to help Amy Winehouse's imprisoned husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. He is said to be giving advice to Fielder-Civil on how to fight the temptations of drugs.
A source has said last month, "Pete's been supportive over Blake's drug issues as he knows what he's going through."
