Pete Doherty will be released from jail on Tuesday. The troubled rocker looks set to serve just 29 days of his 14-week sentence, despite reportedly being caught smoking heroin while in the detox unit of the jail.
He was originally sent to London's Wormwood Scrubs prison for failing to take court-ordered drug tests.
Doherty is said to be planning a marathon drinking session to celebrate his release. A friend of the Babyshambles musician told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "He's planning to go straight to play a show - and then get smashed. He wants no business appointments for three days - so he can really go for it."
The 29-year-old frontman will have his sentence halved and a further 18 days deducted as part of a scheme to cut down on overcrowding in prisons. He also gets two days off for time spent in police custody.
British politician Anne Widdecombe said: "Nobody should be released that early."
Doherty had to postpone a gig at London's Royal Albert Hall because of his incarceration, but he is now expected to perform with his band at this summer's Glastonbury festival.
