So far so good - it seems like Pete Doherty is on the right track and others have seemed to take notice as well. Last week, the British singer checked out of a rehab clinic after being treated for addiction to heroin and crack cocaine. Now the controversial star has reportedly been offered a job as a drugs counselor at The Priory.
Priory doctors and staff were so impressed with Pete's recovery they have asked him back to take therapy sessions.
According to Britain's Daily Star newspaper, a source said "Pete was particularly impressive at his group therapy sessions. He acknowledged right away he was addicted to drugs and he never had a problem talking about how his addiction affected his daily life. That made him stand out from other patients who often won't even admit they have a problem."
The 27-year-old musician spent a month at the clinic after promising his mom and supermodel girlfriend Kate Moss he would kick his drug habit. He then flew straight to Dublin where he performed with his band Babyshambles and did a duet on stage with Kate, 32.
After the concert last week, Pete said, "Any time off I have I'll go back to The Priory to see my doctors and the residents, some of whom have become really good friends."
