Paris Hilton has had time to settle in and is doing much better in jail.
The starlet has been sitting in a cell in Los Angeles County Jail serving a sentence for ignoring her DUI probation.
Her parents, Rick and Kathy, visited the amateur porn star over the Fathers Day weekend and reported that Paris is in a better mental state than when she was returned to her cell after a brief release.
Kathy told Fox News that her daughter is, "Basically just reading and just sitting there thinking...what she wants to do with her life and the changes that she wants to make."
Because Paris was arrested and shipped off to jail, she was living a high life of drinking, driving and endless partying. Now, according to her mother, she is reassessing her life.
Kathy continued, "She's never been alone so this is, as she calls it, a real time out."
Rick was even given a hand-made gift by his daughter. The Hilton Hotel businessman said that 26-year-old Paris made him a Father's Day card. He revealed, "It was kind of cute. She had written a card for me and in front of it was a cartoon and it showed me holding her hand against the glass with her on the other side. Quite touching."
While the Hiltons are praising their daughter, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres isn't as impressed with the socialite. Ellen, who was a groundbreaking star when she publicly came out of the closet, discussed Paris' intellect on her show.
Paris has recently claimed that her dumb persona was an act, something that shocks Ellen. She said, "If that really is an act, if she really was playing dumb, than what does that say about our society that we're celebrating someone who was successful because they're not smart? I just think it's a bad sign and she shouldn't contribute to that. It's just amazing if that was an act the whole time."
Paris will be released from prison before the end of the month.
