Paris' Mom Thinks Jail Will Make Her Better

To make Paris Hilton a better person, she had to go to jail... at least according to her mother, Kathy.

With Paris currently sitting in a Los Angeles cell, her mom has been trying to be strong for the sake of the socialite.

Paris's publicist, Elliot Mintz, told the New York Post newspaper, "Kathy is very emotional. She wanted to exhibit strength for her daughter."

However, Kathy can see the benefits of her 26-year-old daughter serving time. Elliot added, "She thought it was the most important thing to do. She thinks Paris will emerge from this a better person."

Maybe after a few weeks in jail Paris will emerge with a new and better take on reality - meaning no more sex tapes, table top dancing and "The Simple Life" seasons.
