Many people have had a comment on Paris Hilton's jail sentence.

George Clooney gave his two cents, Jamie Lee Curtis wrote an article about it, her fans have protested and Judge Michael Sauer has sent her back to prison. But one person has surprisingly spoken to the media about the circus surrounding Paris and her DUI.

O.J. Simpson, the man of possibly the most famous celebrity court case, has an opinion on the attention the Hilton Hotel heiress is receiving.

The former athlete spoke to Editor And Publisher journal about the intense press attention dedicated to celebrities behaving badly, giving some interesting insights from his perspective.

O.J. did the one-off interview via phone and said, "When Paris Hilton was going to jail last week, more people knew about that than knew that we were sending people into space that day. It has replaced what is real news. There was always a place for it, but it was [gossip writer] Rona Barrett. Now it is the equivalent of Edward R. Murrow reporting it today."

According to O.J., the media has a job to report on the news events, not comment on them, like many respectable outlets are doing with "The Simple Life" star's case.

He continued, "It is about time that the news media point out that they are not doing their job. Things have changed a lot from my trial until today. It is all about ratings, unfortunately."

"When I was growing up, to watch guys like Walter Cronkite and Huntley and Brinkley, I didn't know what they thought of the news. Legitimate news people are giving their opinions. It is hard to tell the difference between legitimate news people and Nancy Grace and Bill O'Reilly."

The media has been a constant presence in O.J.'s life since his infamous murder trial. Now, he says he keeps quiet to avoid more stories.

O.J. revealed, "Everything [Hilton] went through, I know about. But why do I want to talk to the media? If I comment, it becomes a story."

Paris, on the other hand, is still determined to talk to the media and give her side of the story. She reportedly has an interview planned with family friend Barbara Walters immediately after her release.

The socialite is currently serving time at Los Angeles County Jail after she violated her DUI probation.
