In a new interview by Parade magazine, Paris Hilton shows off her serious side and opens up about the bad girl image she is associated with.
"...that's just a stereotype they've come up with. And that's fine, but I'm not a bad girl," the socialite says of her image.
Hilton says the media doesn't affect her that much, "I handle it really well. I don't let that bother me or let the media or paparazzi take over my life. I try not to pay attention to things that are negative."
And when asked what she thinks would surprise the public about her, she replies: "I'm really good at ice hockey. I've been playing since 10th grade, and people don't know that I play defense in hockey. I like to check people, push people down."
The Simple Life star acknowledges the magazine's statement that she has never been rude to anyone saying, "That was definitely the way that we were raised by my mom. She always taught us to be polite. We had the best manners, so I've kept them."
"My mom has always been really supportive. She's one of my best friends. And she's just always said to me to stay the same and stay the sweet girl I've always been since I was little and not let any of the Hollywood stuff get to my head, and you'll leave a good karma."
Any other advice from mom she still carries? "Put your shoulders back and don't chew gum."
