Paris Hilton is fighting to stay out of trouble - literally.
The hotel heiress has been working out intensively with a personal trainer, making sure she is fit enough to hold her own in a fight while in prison.
The star begins her 23-day sentence at one of the country's toughest prisons, Century Regional Detention Center in Los Angeles, on June 5.
To make sure she can fight off the other criminals, Paris has been doing cardio and building up muscle in case the situation calls for it.
A friend of the socialite's tells Star magazine, "She's been working out a lot. It helps with her anxiety. She's probably in the best shape of her life. She's as fit as I have ever seen her, but she's also terrified."
A DUI attorney, Darren Kavinoky, agrees that getting in shape is essential for the tough road ahead of Paris.
He said, "It's a good idea for Paris to get into shape so she can look after herself. L.A. County Jail is known to be one of the harshest jails in the country and extremely dangerous. Fights break out all the time, and people get hurt."
There are other people in Paris' life who can offer advice about life behind bars. Although she is from one of the country's most famous families, even the Hiltons have skeletons and estranged family members in their closets.
It has been revealed that Paris' half aunt - her mom's half sister - has just been released from jail for the fifth time. The experienced jailbird has some advice to offer "The Simple Life" star.
Elizabeth Avanzino told the New York Post newspaper, "I used to own an art gallery. Then I relapsed on alcohol, and I started to do other things. I don't want anything from (the Hiltons).
"Paris does have a lot of issues, and I just want them to come up just to talk. She's a person, she makes mistakes, but I think this goes deeper. People need to know their roots. I have always admired her but never pursued her or my other half-niece (Nicky Hilton). I would love to get to know them."
Paris is heading to jail because of a DUI violation she ignored on separate occasions.
