Paris Hilton is in jail.
The hotel heiress is currently seeing how the bottom half live and will soon discover that the simple life is not all it is cracked up to be.
Paris turned herself into Los Angeles authorities on June 3, two days before her deadline to begin serving her 23-day jail sentence for driving with a suspended license.
But in true Paris Hilton fashion, she had one last taste of glamour before changing into an orange jumpsuit. The socialite arrived at the MTV Movie Awards and walked the red carpet, stealing the show from the real movie stars such as Johnny Depp.
She told reporters at the star-studded event, "I'm really scared but I'm ready to face my sentence. Even though this is a really hard time, I have my family, my friends and my fans to support me, and that's really helpful."
After the awards ceremony, Paris escaped from the glare of flashbulbs and ran straight into the men's wing at the Los Angeles County Jail before midnight.
With Paris in jail and Lindsay in rehab, Hollywood may seem like a ghost town for a few weeks. Other starlets, such as Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton, are battling their own struggles with the law and illness.
