Paris Hilton's first attempt at singing was in some way a horror. The next time she exercises her vocal cords in public, she is going much more literal.
The heiress/socialite/actress/singer/former convict has been cast as one of the leads in a gothic opera, "Repo! The Genetic Opera." Paris has been cast to sing and dance her way around 2056 and a plague that has destroyed the human race.
Director Darren Lynn Bousman, who has made the "Saw" franchise, says he wasn't blind when auditioning the star. The filmmaker insists that Paris is the best actress for the role.
He told Variety, "This movie has become my life. I have auditioned at least 30 actresses for this role - Paris came in and owned it. She is this role."
Producer Carl Mazzocone added, "We saw many actresses for the role, and Paris sang it better than all of them."
Alexa Vega and Paul Sorvino will also star in the film.
